A male gorilla was shot and killed at the Cincinnati Zoo on Saturday by staff individuals who were endeavoring to spare a 4-year-old kid who had fallen into his fenced in area. Harambe, a 400-pound Western swamp silverback gorilla, can be found in recordings of the occurrence tenderly pushing the little child, at one point scooping him up by the seat of his jeans so that the kid is remaining in the watery pool he had slipped into while watching the show.
Other, more realistic recordings demonstrate the gorilla dragging the young man through the canal before towering over him on all fours. A lady can be heard in the video shouting, “I’m right here, mom adores you.”
Cincinnati Zoo Director told that while the security group’s quick reaction “spared the tyke’s life,” the group was grieving the loss of the fundamentally imperiled gorilla.
